Diagnosis
How is hepatitis C diagnosed and monitored?

In most instances, evidence of chronic hepatitis C infection, e.g. high liver enzyme levels, is discovered by chance via screening tests performed in association with medical examinations or blood donation.

Diagnostic tests for hepatitis C are divided into three general categories:

1. Liver imaging tests

2. Invasive liver tests

  • Liver biopsy
